Intricate lines, shading, and details distinguish this etching. Here, Germaine Arnaktauyok features twelve uluit, semi-lunar all-purpose knives used every day by women in the Far North in many aspects of food, hide, and igloo preparation and production. These are personal objects, reflected in the varying details of each ulu. Arnaktauyok's predominant themes are traditional Inuit stories and objects used in Arctic daily life.
