DESCRIPTION

A soup plate with arms Metge, Argent three fleurs-de-lis proper, two and one, quartering Lyon, Argent a lion ramant azure within a double tressure flory counter flory (this is for the Lyon-Bowes-Lyon family, Earls of Strathmore). Motto 'Hoc age'. The arms are supported by the figure of Justice with her scales and the whole stands on a column charged with the initials P.M. The rim is decorated to match the service made for his relative by marriage perhaps with his chain of office.
