China Trade Museum Collection

This porcelain plate is beautifully painted in thick enamels with shaded pink, blue, augergine and iron red flowers, some with touches of yellow in the centers and green leaves shading to white. The rim of the plate is decorated with a border of roses, dianthus, lotus, and grapes of gold with a sepia outline. This European Rococo style was most likely copied from a printed source.
