DESCRIPTION

This is an Oribe ware teabowl, Aka (red) Oribe type. Glazed stoneware with underglaze iron brown and white clay slip, transparent glaze. With drawstring bag of plaid cotton exterior, silk interior and silk cord, and wooden box with clear lacquer incription, 'Aka Oribe, Kuni [?], Chawan' (Japanese Characters) in black and red.
