Pill box, about 1820 Wood Gift of Captain James Armstrong, 1815 M476 The British navigator Captain James Cook (1728-1799) had a major influence on the members of the East India Marine Society because of his three voyages of exploration on the Pacific Ocean. This box is purportedly made from the keel of the bark Endeavour, Cook's first flagship.
