This abstract painting is brightly colored with shades of yellow, orange, and red. Long, darker colored brushstrokes extend from the bottom nearly to the top, reminiscent of fire or grass. The work is accentuated with touches of blue and green. Further Remarks: Although Sylvia Lark was known predominantly in the art world as an American artist, she has Seneca heritage and was included in several exhibitions of work by Native American artists in the 1980s. Mrs. Lark grew up in Buffalo, New York. She worked in Buffalo and California where she was a professor of art at California State University in Sacremento. Her travels included study in Italy, Korea and Japan.
