DESCRIPTION

This is a portrait of a woman in an elk's tooth style dress, leather (probably beaded) belt, and United States Northeastern style moccasins and leggings. She is standing in her home, reaching for a Pueblo style wedding vase, with a Navajo wedding basket displayed on the wall behind her, and a potted cactus on her cinder block table. In the foreground is a dog and on the wedding basket is perched a small bird. Outside her window is a high desert landscape. Edition 46/48
