This is a decorated cedar box with a cover. The box is covered in birch bark, which is decorated with porcupine quills dyed green, white, red, and yellow. There is also split spruce root around the rim of the cover and at both the top and bottom of the diagonal bands of quill work. The top of the cover is decorated with quill work in cross, circle, diamond, and step designs, the sides in half-chevron motif and the sides of the top in single chevrons. There are some sections without any quills, these areas are painted.
