This heavily patterned and layered work has multiple layers of images. Using brown and black ink, the central image is the head of a Katsina doll. The doll wears a feather headpiece which bursts out of the print plane at the top and sides. A stylized palm print is superimposed at the center of the Katsina's face. Geometric forms decorate the upper portion of the background. The Katsina wears a necklace with a zigzag design. Below this, a row of vertical stripes reaches to the edge of the image. Fan burst shapes are superimposed above. A few small bubbles are also printed outside of the print plane.
