This is a woven cedar bark bag. The upper portion of the bag is constructed with thinner strips of bark, and has a closer, finer weave. The bottom portion is woven from larger strips of bark. There is an openwork pattern below the braided rim, and a loop draw string passes from one side through the other and back.
