This is a rectangular storage basket with a cover. The basket is constructed with woven ash splints and decorated with two different potato stamp designs alternating horizontally across the entire outer surface. The designs include a diamond dot patten and a bulls eye with outer dot border. It apperas that the top of the basket became wet at some point.
