This is a ceramic jar with a bulbous body, a short neck and a flat, uneven rim. The base, which extends a short ways up the side of the pot, and the rim, are painted red. Two painted black bands around the neck and just above the lower red section form a border for decorative floral designs in red and black paint on a white background. The interior is painted light white. There are a few hard accretions across the surface.
