This ceramic canteen has a very rough texture and a mottled reddish brown exterior. There is a very small base from which the bottle tips forward. The body of the canteen is bulbous and irregular in shape, with black splotches of what may originally have been paint, but is most likely a result of the firing process. There are two heavy loop handles on either side of a short neck with uneven rim.
